If you haven’t already, you should try BOCAs all American burgers! They’re vegetarian, not vegan, because they have cheese in them, but they taste soooo much like meat.

Great video love the effort you put into your videos however as a vegetarian these burgers give off a weird after taste. Not into them personally. It’s sad I really wanted to like them!

Far easier to just cook up a REAL Burger. Vegans and Vegetarians are such hypocrites. They don't want meat, but they want something that looks and tastes like meat

I'm all for advancement, but not when it comes from the food police. Give me a real STEAK, BUTTER, Heavy Cream, Ice Cream, LOBSTER, BACON etc, etc, etc, anytime. I support livestock producers.

*vegan voice* for those of you who are asking why a vegan would want this to be meatlike *regular voice* Me, looking through comments: hmm. i see a distinct lack of people asking that. Just another case of Vegan Announcing. Everyone move along. THIS IS A JOKE BUT IT IS TRUE. IT'S OKAY TO LAUGH AT THE TRUTH SOMETIMES.

Why are plant based alternatives to meat always so much more expensive than meat?
Deanna Stevens 1 month ago
I think this is the one that they created from plants that would mimic blood and meat in a chopped sinew sense. I can't imagine I would want to eat it. I'm not vegan but I Can't Eat Commercial red meat. So I eat poultry (not so much the skin) and seafood. Also Wild Game is Awesome. because it does not have the digestive/physical affects. I just don't need my burger to be like this. But I'm glad you did this.

Where I work, they had these on the menu. tried one. at first it tasted amazing. after about half way the flavor, smell, and texture changed in a not so appealing way. dunno why and I am a fan of veggie burgers for sure!
Annie Worroll 1 month ago
I had hesitated to try this because I really don't like their beefy crumbles, taste so much like peas. Also, while I like some veggie burgers, the ones that try to imitate beef have been at best tolerated. This video convinced me to try it today, and while I think it's somewhat overhyped it's actually pretty good. It's not likely to fool many people(enough toppings might mask some of the difference though), but it's actually very good. Will buy again(just not often because oof that price tag)
Steve Kramer 1 month ago
While this ‘Beyond Burger’ seems to be an improvement over the typical ‘veggie burger’ , Until it tastes & ‘feels’ nearly like a Real one, and is (almost) cost competitive with one, i won’t be buying it anytime soon! Too bad, as I’d like to move away from eating meat, but I will Not now give up on it’s taste, order & feel!
Steve Kramer 1 month ago
+Helvetica Scenario I'll consider doing like-wise when it gets to the Chicago 'burbs.
Helvetica Scenario 1 month ago
+Steve Kramer Just watched a couple of videos on the Impossible Whopper. The claim is that it's basically indistinguishable from a standard Whopper. I believe they're being tested in St. Louis. I want to try one if it rolls out nationwide. I think it's great that they've managed to get the product to the point it resembles a popular, more processed burger, but I think they're far from competing with a Bison burger (sounds delicious).
Steve Kramer 1 month ago
+Helvetica Scenario When that finally happens, I'll put it to a side-by-side test to see If it's just as good as the real thing then! Right now, I've been enjoying either Bison or Grass-fed Angus burgers on occasion, which are both healthier than regular beef, and sustainably raised.
Helvetica Scenario 1 month ago
@Steve Kramer The impossible burger is supposed to be even closer to real meat. They're only served in some restaurants right now, but it's probably coming to Burger King soon in a version of the Whopper. If it's successful there, the price might come down as they ramp up production.

I use the same kind of mustard as you do, I find it has the best taste for use with burgers, hot dogs, fries, chicken nuggets, and that sort of thing. I don't mind using different kinds of mustards for other things, though.

I bought some hamburger crumbles Albertsons and I did not know that they were vegan. I made tacos or spaghetti can't remember. they were good no one not even me knew that it wasn't real hamburger meat. One thing I will never eat is medium or medium rare pink hamburger meat. You are just asking for e-coli eating that

This is weird, if youre vegan why do you still want to eat food that tastes just like the animals you are trying to protect? Thats like cannibals eating food that taste human but is not made from a physical human being, It just tastes like ome of us. So you dont want to eat the tortured/ murdered animal. But you want your food to taste like them?? If I were an animal I would still be mortified.

adam padilla some vegans/vegetarians still enjoy the flavor of meat but want to protect animals. It’s not like vegans wanna eat rabbit food all the time. besides, I don’t think any farm animal would really have such complex thoughts about what you’re eating or even what they’re eating

Thank you much for trying this out Emmy! I recently bought this and I was very worried if I was going to like it or not ( I LOVE meat and burgers but due to health reasons I cant really eat fatty foods as much anymore so seeing this on sale at my local supermarket i just had to try it. ) I've been putting off cooking this because i was so worried about the taste but thanks to your video I'll be happy to try it now. Hopefully I'll like it enough that this can substitute meat burgers for me!)

I like beyond meat best. Impossible burger is plant based too. Bad side is they use GMO ingredients. Personally I don't wanna eat round up pesticides on my plate but just me. A great vegan cheese is chao!
Megan Myra 2 months ago
I've never had that burger but there are a ton of vegan ground beef packages for sale for less than $5. I'm not vegan so I usually use it to make a burger and bind it w some egg and bread crumbs. My issue with what it sounds like it tastes like is, it sounds just like the homemade veggie burgers I make so unless you're vegan, it's really not worth it. I don't know what they use to bind it, but if you can figure it out, just by some Gardein, Morning Star, or Boca veggie ground beef and make your own burger.

Too much packaging for something like this.
Pokemon Maniac Jak 5 days ago
Andrew Hanson that was my thought too. Many people are vegan for environmental reasons, having no problem with meat as a concept and this would put them right off. Hell, I’m not vegetarian and some veggie products put me off because you can’t use your own containers to pick it up

I enjoy my meat and I tried the beyond burger at Carl’s Jr and I actually really enjoyed it. Might go buy some of these patties later
Brian Westfield 3 months ago
I’m no vegan, I’m a carnivore at heart and love me a big juicy burger. But I ended up trying this at Carl’s Jr. and my word, I was super impressed. It was so tasty and I didn’t feel short changed in any way as it was a good simulation of beef. Way to go Beyond Beef. Now I am wondering, aside from cost, if there are any downsides to it.
danny harrity 3 months ago
I would say most vegans like the taste of meat. I sure do, but my perspective is on the animals so it was really never difficult when I made the connection. I honestly enjoy this lifestyle a lot more.
Laurie Nv 3 months ago
I tried this and the texture is nothing like meat. That's nothing compared to the taste though. It was beyond the definition of disgusting. It was literally the worst thing I've ever tasted.
Flowmoshun 3 months ago
I have been trying to do a few days out of the week without meat, so I gave these a try in that. I found it to be very, very gross. It has this odd meaty flavor, but you know it's not meat, then the patties had such an odd texture in the middle. This was a big no thanks. I'll stick to some blackbean burger patties.
Flowmoshun 3 months ago
Just watching you eat it reminds me of the awful smell and texture and I feel sick.

Easy on the salt! Why are humans so obsessed with salt? It's like even before tasting food they'll put salt on it first. I never use salt, only pepper which is healthier. The reason is all food we buy is prepared with salt as a preservative. You don't need anymore. Cook without salt! Btw I've tried these and dug them. They do taste like meat and are tasty. Don't know about Impossible Burger but the stuff it's made of is not as healthy. I don't buy into the cholesterol con but Beyond Burger has zero cholesterol, GMOs, and is soya and gluten free unlike IB.

I would like to say i flattened my patties a bit, because i prefer a thinner patty, i had to first by pass the pungent smell, reminiscent of cat food, but once the patty hits the griddle the smell goes away. Season that bad boy, add daiya american cheese slice and all the other great burger toppings and it is quite delicious. oh and im not a vegan just stepping out of my comfort zone

What I find most interesting about the review is that she actually enjoyed the smell. Like others who have commented, when I tried the Beyond Burger the smell was very unpleasant from the opening to the actual cooking of the product. In fact, the smell was so offputting that I almost lost my appetite while cooking two of these. I managed to eat one (with many mental gymnastics because I was afraid it would taste as it smelled) but afterward I had to wash my mouth out because of the unpleasant aftertaste.

I am one of those who doesn't want the meat experience. I eat Morningstar Farms burgers and cook them in the toaster until they are the consistency of an oatmeal cookie. However, I could probably talk my VERY meat-eating sons and husband into trying this. It seems it would be really great for people who must avoid meat for health reasons, such as cardiac, cholesterol, etc. Thanks for the video! You answered my questions!

Thats A LOT of grease that came out of them. Damn.
Timothy Richard-Jackson 4 months ago
I don’t eat meat but not because it’s don’t like the taste of meat but for ethical reasons. That’s the reason why a lot of us would eat this because it has the texture and taste but isn’t ethically compromising

Nice video. Just a for your information --Fats are actually good for you and will not make you fat, contrary to what you may have been told or what you learned from uniformed sources. (Carbs and sugars will make you fat, but that's another story.) Furthermore, this particular burger gets much of its fat from coconut oil, which is one of the best fats for you, even though it's a vegetable saturated fat. So, don't worry about eating saturated fat. You will actually lose weight from eating fat, not gaining. And don't worry about it increasing your cholesterol, another bit of misinformation, contrary to pseudo-experts. The fats that you should worry about and avoid eating are oxidized fats and transfats. THEY are the unhealthy fats to avoid. Bon Appétit.

I love the way the vegans in the comments are saying meat eaters try to influence people to eat the way they eat. I've seen far more vegans bullying meat eaters than the other way around but the meat eaters are never the ones crying about it. Get a grip vegans. I used to be a vegetarian. I changed for my boyfriend. Go ahead jump all over me you psychos won't change anything with me.

Vegan / vegetarian friendly ! I know a vegetarian and she is not so friendly ! I think she may have just paid £8 on a pack of 2 veg burgers. It may also have had some thing to do with the comment i had just made ! Tin of 8 hot dogs and a pack of 8 buns £2. And £6 spare for a six pack to wash them down with. yummy ! BURP !!!
Cherrycordial 5 months ago
I recently tried these myself and I've come to the conclusion that these taste a lot like an upgraded version of a school lunch hamburger. I liked them, actually. The price makes them expensive for what they are, but the taste isn't bad and I didn't find myself missing beef too much. Granted, I'd eat just about anything so long as it's slathered with burger sauce and between two buns.

Eating a vegetarian burger is like having sex with a sex doll. never going to be the same. Animals are not pets they are meant to be slaughtered. This clip should send vegans and vegetarians into the hospital with an aneurysm.lol. . 👍. There is no substitute for the real thing.
