Comments to the video: MEAT EATERS TASTE TEST! Beyond Burger vs Impossible Burger

What did he mean by regular food? Lol. Vegan food is the realist thing out there, it's plant based😄.

Today is March 6, 2019. Impossible Foods has RUINED a great-tasting vegan burger with the Impossible Burger 2.0. The 2.0 version is soy-based, whereas the Impossible Burger 1.0 was wheat-based. The 2.0 version is OK.but it tastes no different than the store-bought vegan Boca Burger, which is 1/10th the cost. Those who agree should contact Impossible Foods, as I did, to let them know of your displeasure.

but can you crumble them for tacos or spaghetti sauce or chili?

I got the beyond burger from Carl's Jr for my mom and she had no idea it wasn't beef! it was fantastic. My husband is obsessed with them and he's not vegan (yet) great video ladies. <3

I actually can't stand the Beyond Burger. It has a weird taste to me. I almost get physically sick when after eat it. On the other hand, I absolutely love the impossible burger. This is not even close to me.

I would love to have access to either of these options over here in germany. I hope they both spread far and wide soon.

I’m trying to understand why some of y’all just can’t understand the simplicity of the fact that not everyone was born vegan and some people miss meat and cheese. So why not make something that taste like it as long as it helps them transition?

All dying and craving to eat natural meat.lol.

I think it’s really self righteous for people who don’t eat meat because it tastes so much like the real thing to shame people who enjoy it. I went vegetarian at 9. That was 16 years ago and my options were limited. I went vegan 10 years ago and really had no options at all. Really excited at how creative they have become. As long as the nutrition is still there I have no qualms with it and I love the fact that this makes transitioning so much easier.

even if you can manage to make this weird vegan burgers taste good their nutritional value is still zero. Vegan diet is unnatural and makes people sick in the long run, human body needs animal protein to be healthy and strong💪💪💪

I have had the Impossible Burger 🍔 that wasn’t over cooked and enjoyed it very much. It was cooked on a skillet at a restaurant. Beyond Burger I cooked from a frozen pattie wasn’t as tasty to me. YouTube recommended your video and I just subscribed to your channel. It would of been helpful to know how you prepared the burgers.

You should have lined it up like “See if you can guess which one is real meat”, and then afterwards be like “Surprise! They’re both vegan 😊.”
gCuezy 6 months ago
In my experience the Impossible Burger is better but it's tough because you have to get it at a restaurant. Often people with a lot of vegan restaurant options say that it depends entirely on the preparation (you have to cook it for a short time or something). Beyond & Impossible burgers are way better than anything I've ever made for myself in the (pre-vegan) past though.

I have tried both and every time I order the Impossible burger it has been over cooked so didn't enjoy it and the beyond burger has a weird smell to it. In my experience both are bland without condiments. I prefer to season my burgers with some sort of spice and marinade to give it flavor.

Lifestyle changes: no smoking, no alcohol, unrefined vegan diet with vitamin B12 supplement, exercise about 3x a day, about 7 hours of sleep. Eliminate 0 fiber foods like refined substances such as oil, vegan fake mayo, vegan fake sour cream, vegan fake cheese, coconut milk, vegan fake milk, vegan fake yogurt, vegan fake ice cream, sweeteners, juice, refined flour, vegan fake meat, protein powder, tofu, seitan, salt, alcohol, caffeine, most supplements. Vegans do need vitamin B12 supplement. Can get vitamin D from sunshine. Vegans might need vitamin D supplement, EPA/DHA omega 3 supplement. For extra fiber, can use psyllium seed powder, psyllium husk powder, guar gum powder. For extra B vitamins, can use debittered brewer's yeast (by product from making beer). All animal products have 0 fiber. Eliminate Poultry, Fish, Meat, Eggs, Dairy Products. For liquids, can filter tap water. Chew food instead of drinking calories via the blender. Avoid nut butters, seed butters like tahini. Fiber works better with more water, so cook soup, cereal, congee. If like hibiscus tea, just throw hibiscus flowers into soup, cereal, congee.

If you cherry pick, you will be able to prove anything including flat earth, no evolution, no global warming, human extinction in less than 5 years, drinking oil leads to long life, eating butter leads to long life, etc.
colonyofcells iamamachine 6 months ago
Based on longevity blue zones, high intensity exercise might not be needed for longevity but daily exercise of one type or another seems to help.
colonyofcells iamamachine 6 months ago
WHO has the minimum protein requirements (about.8 gram per kg) and minimum fat requirements that people should follow. I heard at a minimum, fats should make up 15% of most adult diets, women of reproductive age need at least 20%, according to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. WHO recommends max 30% fat. Better to go with mainstream science consensus than cherry picking. As for carb fuel and fat fuel, how much fuel people need depends on the amount of exercise of each person. America recommends less than 1,500 mg salt per day. For epa/dha omega 3, can eat wild anchovies, wild sardines, maybe 2x a week which seems to be the recommendation of the diet guides of many countries.
Paco A 6 months ago
if you excercise three times a day your intensity is way too low. You should excercise with some intensity or its pretty much pointless. Also americans eat way too much carbs, to little protein and pretty much a good amount of fat on average. look at the science on pubmed and do your own research instead of repeating than vegan propaganda dude
colonyofcells iamamachine 6 months ago
Too much protein is probably the problem in america rather than too little protein. Easy for vegans to get enough protein by soaking overnight and cooking your own beans, peas, lentils. As for exercise, the more the better for most people if they are not obese. Obese people who overexercise could get a heart attack and better to start with some walking for obese people. Dr Michael Greger seems to walk pretty much the whole day in front of his computer.

Frankenstein products made of refined substances (not real food) usually have natural flavor (each natural flavor can be as many as 50 chemicals) and or artificial flavor (each artificial flavor can be as many as 50 chemicals).

Maybe if they had a little more information/knowledge about the impacts of animal ag on health, the environment and the animals they wouldn't be so indifferent to vegan food.

Great video. But I would rather eat burgers made out of vegetables, nuts and grains than eat burgers that look and taste like meat because if I want to taste something that tastes like meat I would just choose to eat meat but I have chosen to avoid eating all animal based products because it is healthier for me. I try to focus on whole plants rather than processed foods.
Paco A 6 months ago
vegan food is not healthier, check the science and dont believe plant based propaganda.

I would love to try them, since i LOVE burgers, but they are not available in my area. They need to start selling them at hy-vee.
Saved By Plants 6 months ago
Can we just establish that there is no such thing as a part time vegan. You either live a vegan lifestyle (no animal tested products, no animals used for entertainment, no animals used for clothing etc) or like this person, you eat a part time plant based diet. I wish people would stop watering down what veganism is about - the victims of the largest holocaust in human history - the animals. People work damn hard to rid their lives of cruelty and suffering it's a complete lifestyle change - that is veganism. A lot then go on to become activists in some form or another to help educate others about the horrific things humans do to animals in the name of food, clothing, entertainment and science. Vegans actually work towards ending to this.

im genuinely not that into either burger. I never understood how people like meat that was close to raw and liked seeing the blood in it. Gross. I'm more of a health vegan so I just dont like eating stuff that feels so fattening or oily. The taste of either burger is just ok, but I guess I say that because I was never really into meat anyway. Going vegan was pretty easy for me.

Since Michael mentioned buying ground beef for other dishes (other than burgers), you should try using the *Veggie Crumbles* in Tacos or Pasta for a possible future taste test. (Taco Seasoning really works wonders with the crumbles!) 😋👍

Don’t blame The impossible burger for animal testing, blame the government institution the FDA for forcing the REQUIREMENTS. They tested a non toxic soy leghemoglobin on rats.

Those test were not required by law. They did it to increase the likely hood of selling their product.

Funny, I think the Beyond Burger is actually too much like a flesh burger and in the last 7 years I have lost my taste for flesh and so I like the fact that the Impossible Burger is a little less like a flesh burger. My favorite is the Impossible Burger dressed with red onion, tomato, leaf lettuce and sliced avocado with spicy ketchup (make my own with ketchup and Chipotle Tabasco sauce). And I think your friendors (do you like my new word? I just made it up. Friendors are much better to have than endors) were great sports to try this, not to mention that they are naturals in front of the camera. So if they are willing, you should definitely runs some more vegan alternatives to meat and dairy by them like vegan cheeses (and don't ignore homemade vegan cheeses!), seitan based dishes like subbing seitan for beef and cashew cream+lemon juice for sour cream in beef stroganoff, and maybe even very uncommon things like jackfruit or soy curl pulled pork BBQ sandwiches. BTW, soy curls are amazing! The only ingredient is organic soybeans yet when rehydrated and used in place of flesh in just about any dish gives that dish something that has a very meaty chew. And like flesh they benefit from lots of spices and tasty plant based sauces and marinades. Soy curls are made by Butler Foods and can be purchased direct, also some stores carry them and, like everything else in the known universe, they can be ordered from Amazon.

I'm having a beyond burger for lunch today. Best part is that my non-vegan boyfriend made it for me with so much love! When I'd made one for him, New Mexico style (with hatch chiles in it), he was blown away. He said that he'd definitely choose vegan if this was an available option! He's gone veggie of his own volition since we met. <3

Meat eaters and chefs always talk about juice - its not juice (that comes from our natural food - fruit) its fat from the meat & oil from the cooking of it. Looking forward to the Beyond burger hitting tescos in the UK, promised to be August but not much of the month left. :(

Meat is cheaper because the government subsidizes it. We have to support vegan companies and vegan food will be cheaper.
harryt622 6 months ago
Hey Mike.if you ever ate any vegetable you ate vegan food. I have tried both burgers and I like the Beyond Burger much better. However, because they are so expensive and the fat and salt is comparable to beef, I can do without them. In my area the Beyond Burger is $14 a pound. I am vegan so I agree with DNaturalArtist, I really don't need something that imitates and tastes like animal flesh.

Pink and Juicy AKA Blood and Fat. I personally don't want that in my burger 🤢
Ryan Smith 6 days ago
Fat is juicy, and juicy means good mouthfeel. There is nothing worse than a dry, mealy burger. Medium ground beef is best for burgers, which is between 20 and 25 percent fat uncooked. Not good for you though, especially when eaten in excessive amounts. I say this as a meat eater, eating meat every day is excessive. Our hunter-gatherer ancestors would sometimes go long periods without a successful hunt. Their diets were mostly plants supplemented by meat when the hunting was good. The food guude says 2-3 servings of meat per day? Per week is more like it, especially in the 8 ounce portions burgers and steaks are often served in. The rest of the week, get your protein from nuts, beans, lentils, etc. That's if a person eats meat at all. No disrespect intended to those who choose vegetarianism or veganism.
