It's funny Savage planned to search the universe for other life. He jacked up the solar system not the galaxy. It's teaming with life. Hell the Green Lantern Corp should have responded as soon as John Stewart was killed.

Considering Vandal is either 30,000 or 50,000 years old, not being able to visit any point in history you already exist seems like a pretty shitty deal!

An episode that managed to humanize, and make you feel sympathy for, an immortal tyrant with millions, if not billions, of years of atrocities under his belt. This was a Golden Age of animation I fear we will never see again.

3:07 Damn Vandal , that’s harsh even for yourself

I like this Vandal. He’s got. perspective. He practically radiates gravitas. He’s been alone for a very long time. And e’s had a very, very, *very* long time to thing about exactly why that is and where it all went wrong. He did destroy the world, and he regrets it. He’s not precisely not a monster, but he’s a changed man. He understands the consequences, in a way only someone who has lived with the consequences of their actions. He regrets, but he does not forget. He’s.serene. Wise. He sees now what he did not see then. He has accepted both that his actions were evil, and that there is nothing he can do to change them. And yet, he regrets. He can plot the path he strayed from so long ago, even if he lacks the opportunity to follow it. And when given a chance to walk some small measure of it, he does. Perhaps he hasn’t grasped redemption, but he has found it. He sees it in the horizon he can never reach.

Savage builds a time machine that won't let him go back to any time that he already existed, the dude is prehistoric so what was the point in building the machine in the first place? :'D
The Silencer 5 months ago
he used it to send stuff to his past self. like future tech. like what he did in a previous episode. :)

So why didn't Savage just go back to the time before he was born, somewhere in like -50,000 BC? It'd still be a lot of waiting, but at least he'd have company.

I believe it is super interesting that the writers took such a deep road with this episode, here they are, the last two man on earth, the best of them all and the worst of them all, the one who tried to save humanity and the one who tried to destroy it, Superman trying to always best Vandal, and Vandal ultimately killing Superman friends, chips are down, there is literally nothing each of them can do anymore, what to do now? Lunch.

Man, Vandal Savage is a man with literally nothing but time on his hands; being immortal is good for that reason, but it's also a curse.

I thought Lobo was immortal? How did Savage kill him too?
Timed Revolver 8 months ago
Lobo doesn't live on Earth.and the DCAU version wasn't immortal. Everyone was powered down a bit to not be so OP. So, Lobo probably died of old age or got taken out while going after a bounty.

Savage has been on the earth practically since the dawn of man, why would he design a time machine where he can't travel to a point where he existed.

fjvideo 9 months ago
It's sloppy, unimaginative writing. They can say anything because they don't have to show it. He destroyed the whole JL in one day using gravity. How? It doesn't matter because it's sooooooooooooo coooooooooooooooool. Nope. It's crap.

Shouldn't batman have been the hardest to take down instead of Green Lantern?
One4allable 7 months ago
@Syryu Man, these Bat fans have no limits! LOL.
Syryu 8 months ago
No because as Vandal said, he had total control of gravity with his invention. Batman, being a regular human, would still be susceptible to gravity and its major changes so chances are he'd be the first to go down. The Green Lantern ring on the other hand, is able to adapt to changes in gravity so the bearer can operate on different planets without trouble. That's why Green Lantern was so hard to take down. No matter how many times Vandal altered gravity, John's ring would allow him to endure and keep fighting. He probably died once his ring ran out of juice and he couldn't keep up anymore.

For a man whose live 30,000+ years alone. Savage kept his mental health in top condition. I'd wager a lesser man would've had at least several thousand imaginary friends to talk to at that point.
