How To: Ombre your hair with Revlon Frost and Glow

I just wanted to record myself highlighting my hair with the revlon kit that I have been using for a while now. I first heard about this technique by watching this video linked below by Jessi James Decker who is stunning and made it look super easy and it is! I love this kit and it is very affordable and pretty fool-proof to mix and do it yourself! Revlon Frost and Glow: Jessi James Deckers Video: I will be doing this again in about a week to get it a little bit blonder for the summer! Just to mention again I used the Revlon Frost and Glow in the medium formula! ig:@bellanoochi xo Meg

Well girl I use Clairol Frost and Tip and have for years with fabulous results. I personally don't like red or orange in my hair. The key to any frosting kit is to leave the product on the strands until they are a soft buttery blonde. If you wash it off before that stage you will probably get orange brassy hair. I do use the cap and focus O around my face and crown. If you do use the cap, make sure you gently comb the strands out so you don't have bumps. Use the plastic cap after the color is applied and twist it tight covering all your hair. I don't really time mine as I check it intermittently to see when I get that soft buttery blonde color. Wash it it with the cap on (I do it in the shower). Then I wash all of my hair and use the conditioner that comes in the box and leave it on as long as possible. I get fabulous results every time!! I like my strands blonder than yours it just makes my face and eyes pop!! Not dissing your technique at all but sharing my tried and true technique. My stylist can't believe how great it looks! And cheaper than having her do it. I love love love my stylist ( my stylist for 9 years and I wouldn't let anyone else touch my hair). She is magic with haircuts - pure magic!!!! When people compliment your haircut you know it's fabulous! And I am very very picky about my hair. Cheers girl! Your hair looks great!!

You should have slowed it down and talked while you were doing it instead of playing the music. This was way too fast for a tutorial. Pretty results though.

Be careful with that because if you bleach henna it will probably turn orange like bright pumpkin orange and if it is back henna (with indigo) it will turn a swampy blue/green

did u also use a toner at the end? there is no way that your hair turned out like that from your final pic with this kit.unless you had hair that was not coloured at all previously

Does anyone know if her hair was processed before she did the highlights? I want to do this, but I saw a video where some girl said this ruined her hair bc her hair wasn't virgin. I would think if you had color on your hair prior to this, but not to the extent of being fried, it would be ok?

Adds just a little bit more definition to my hair and lightens up my face. I am going to do this again soon to lighten up my hair. Thank you so much for this! Most helpful tutorial i've seen.

that's not a plastic liner , I'v used that before to. that is a cap that's you put on your hair to conceal it from everything. you can use a blow dryer with it to help lighten your hair.

I was asking for the prices in hairdresser but its readiculusly hight. around 80 pound with little cut like ends of the hair.

Does this kit just have developer and the powder bleach? Or is there some sort of toner in it also? Because it says honey, which sounds like it would have a toner? I am confused lol someone help please

I know this post is old, but I thought I would ask in case anyone is monitoring it. The end seems to be bleached on all the hair, but in fast motion, it looked like you/she did every other section and left some out completely. I noticed at the beginning some hair had bleach on it from before. Is that why it looks as though it has a been done at the end? It looks so nice - I just want to make sure of what I am doing before I let loose on my hair. Thanks if anyone is watching!
SKennedy 3 years ago
wow, that looks great -- and all I could see is that you were putting it on with your finger and like every other strand of hair? I am watching several videos and your's looks great!

Hey I have jet black hair thus I was wondering if I should bleach my hair first before applying the revlon product or do I just apply the revlon kit n skip the bleaching part?
Kaori Sana 3 years ago
+Harry Here well if the product contains bleach (which i am unsure about so you'll have to check) then it should be good to go :)

my hair was virgin black but just tried dyeing it light brown. It did nothing just a tiny difference. I want to dye my whole hair, can i use the frost and glow high lights for my whole hair? Would i need 2 boxes? My hair is medium sized. plz help. Also should i start at the ends then work up to the roots then apply more at the ends when whole hair is complete?

for how long did you leave it before you wash ? this is the most important thing to know, thanks
Allison G 3 years ago
On the box its says results start at 10 minutes and you shouldn't leave it on longer than 60. I have medium to light brown hair and I had to let it set for a good 20-25 minutes. I would also, just in case, use the instructions in the box about testing it on a sample snip of your hair. I hope this helped :)
