This is the only time you see super experienced professors and top minds get nervous when teaching their craft.

A question to Mr Mayor. He will surely know the answer. Why was the Nobel given for the first planet outside of the Solar system discovered around a solar type star and not for the first planet discovered outside of the Solar system?

because there was a 1992 discovery of a possible planet around a pulsar.

Congratulations to Michel Mayor for the discovery of 51 Peg. B. And thank you Michel, for pointing out that we on Earth have not Planet B to escape to in case our own Earth becomes uninhabitable.

Why was the Nobel given for the first planet outside of the Solar system discovered around a solar type star and not for the first exoplanet discovered do you know by any chance? The story of planet B is well known and worn out. Even my daughter used it at a discussion at school a long time ago.

Why isn’t there anyone really concerned about Nobel Prize? I was deeply disappointed by the view number and thumb up, no matter how do you think about it, I think at least it is one of the major human horror that worth to pay attention on
