Where in Sac did you find the impossible burger?
Cheryl Gafner 2 months ago
I just tried the Beyond Burger at Carl's Jr. and I enjoyed it. There is a pretty big sticker shock at almost $10.00 dollars a hit, but not bad. I also tried the Impossible burger at The Counter restaurant and enjoyed it. That was $14.25 without fries/sides!!! It's a racket for sure, but I am a food slut and would eat both! ;) I am glad to see the Beyond Burger is sold commercially, as that would be more competitively priced. I discovered that the Beyond Burger has eggs thus if you're vegan, this would not be an option. :-( Oh, I'm in California and we don't have them, (WAH!) but White Castle has the Impossible Burger and I'm totally jealous!!

Both the burgers are really good. I like the Beyond Burger better because its non GMO. I am somewhat skeptical about the production of the heme for the impossible burger.

I get that these companies are really going after the World's population of omnivores (versus vegetarians, strict or otherwise) so I get they want to lure them over with similarities to a staple with which they are accustomed; however, The Impossible Burger has 17g of fat and a whopping 13g of saturated fat. That means 65.52% of this product is from fat. The Beyond Burger's numbers LOOK better at 20g of fat and 5g of saturated fat but they're not. It comes in as 66.67%. Also, no one talks about the sodium either at 570 and 380, respectively. Those who are truly health conscious should look at these as a 'treat' a couple times a year and stick to whole plant foods. These are more like vegan junk food (regardless of whether you are vegan or not!) and not the weekly staple as many seem to tout them as.

I have had the Impossible Burger at Fatburger and Beyond Burger at Carl's Junior. I have had each more than once in Los Angeles. For me the Impossible Burger is noticeably better but I acknowledged that this may well be the difference in how it is prepared. Fatburger may well do a better job in preparing the produce. In Fatburger's case I feel I am not missing out on any taste vs their regular burgers (or at least much). In Carl's Junior I felt it was more of a novelty and not worth the extra charge vs a regular burger (in fact, not really worth a discount vs the regular burger). The Impossible Burger is the winner. at least the way that Fatburger makes it.

I tried the Beyond burger at Carl's recently. It blew my mind how tasty it was. The price point is higher for them but aside from that, I look forward to eating it when I am on the road. Oh and I am not a vegetarian or vegan. I was just curious. I prefer eating this burger because it is very keto friendly and really does the job of getting in vegetable nutrients amd fibre.

Hi, conspiracy theorist here. beyond meat is being pushed by the media - Red flag 1. I had high hopes for beyond meat until I read they are financed by Bill Gates - Red Flag 2. It does have a weird smell when cooked (especially the sausage) and after-taste. which I used to only get after eating actual meat. I believe vaccines and flu shots are ways to inject us with tons of horrible experiments the elite want to do to us. Bill Gates said himself if we do a really good job with vaccines, we can lower the population by 15%. I assume they are also injecting us with hormones to homogenize us and who knows what else. Bottom line - another way they get us to ingest horrible things (adrenochrome?) is through meat. but one problem for them is.what about people who don't eat meat? Well, guess what. enter the beyond burger, financed by Bill Gates, pushed by Dr. Oz and every media outlet. has weird after-taste. I'm definitely suspicious.

The Beyond Meat Burger is better than any Beef Burger Flavor and Texture Wise. The ingredients and amount of fat in it is not ideal for eating regularly at all, however. To indulge in a really delicious burger it is perfect for that.
CyberNerd1000 1 month ago
Hmm. taste wise, I actually liked Impossible Meat but both plant-based meats are processed food. So there is health consequences for long term impacts that are still unknown. But it is a great idea to minimize animal food by introducing plant-based meat. I just wish there are some wide spread clinical studies on these plant-based meats in the near future from creditable sources.

I don't like how Impossible is GMO'd. Genetically modified the soy to create a heme which is similar to meat protein. I like the Beyond Meat pea protein ingredients better. They didn't even have to use Monsanto's help to get it FDA approved since it wasn't before because Impossible is made in a such a weird way.

Just cooked the Beyond Burger for the first time today.crazy insane good. And freaky how it reminds me of a real burger I last had 30 years ago. I found the BB at Sprouts. I also bought the sausage link variety. Four links/brat sized and it is FREAKY how close it is to what I remember them to be. I can slice and top a pizza or crumble for quiche and plan on using this BB burger form as a ground beef substitute for chili, spaghetti, will make meat balls and meatloaf out of it too. The crumbles by the same company are not as exciting to me as this product is. NOTE: All the forums I read advise to cook thawed, (thaw safely in your refrigerator meaning don't counter thaw or micro). So plan ahead as they are sold frozen. Thanks PBN! Loved your taste test!

The impossible burger destroyed my stomach. I’ve never experienced that amount of pain or bloat in my life. Eventually, after laying on the floor feeling like I was going to die, I had a huge blow out and the pain went away. I’ve been scared to try it again but it was good. I do love the beyond burger though and it’s never tried to tear me apart from the inside out.

How many animals did the farmers kill tilling fields and putting poison out for rodents and insects? This includes rabbits as well if anyone isn’t sold with rodents lmaooo Mass production will always beat alternatives, our population is too high I believe to support everyone being vegan, if it was the other way around and eating meat was what we “needed” but it wasn’t mass produced, not everyone will get the meat to eat.

So many people who might think that Beyond Burger would be good to eat having heard that going vegan is a good way to lose weight, a calorie is still a calorie. My husband picked up some cauliflower burgers. Not as spectacular tasting as the Beyond Burger, however much lower in fat. By the time you get all the condiments on the cauliflower burger, it was definitely enjoyable. With so many people being not just overweight but obese, I think there is definitely room for the burgers which are lower in fat. Morning Star makes a Black Bean Burger and it does not try to taste like a hamburger but it is definitely delicious. We had that as the veggie meat source with a dinner of tacos with fat-free refried beans and some carrots and broccoli, and rice. My husband was just raving about how good it was. I computed that the fat grams we ate was less than 8 grams in the whole meal. This included some grated faux cheese Parmesan which he ate but I did not. He now snacks on grapes so progress is being made. He still likes some of his old food. I took out a Banquet chicken pot pie to compare for fat content which was 20 fat grams but he usually eats 2 of these when he does not want to try what I am eating. Eating low fat can be delicious and filling and you don't get hungry after dinner. Now this is a way to lose weight. But Beyond Burger is like a celebration food. Americans have been celebrating breakfast, lunch and dinner. We need to get real and learn to find low fat foods which are good such as I make a baked potato in the microwave, cut it up when it is still how like French fries, then a little salt and some ketchup, and I am in taste bud heaven. Once you start chewing, that this is not fried goes away. I was using the Yukon gold potato and not Russet. Have that with some of the kale salads available but not with the included dressing, (I use fresh oranges for flavor) and you can eat this way and lose 1 to 2 lbs per week just making some smarter choices and not ever feeling hungry. The advantage of how this curbs your appetite is that you can better plan your next meal. I've lost 50 lbs. re-learning how to eat and am feeling good. I still want to lose more, but I am not is a big hurry. What is more important is that I have stopped binging on food. Getting self-control back, feels the best. I thought I was just weak-willed. There are foods we have been eating which are addictive and the food manufacturers are making millions while Americans get sick. We need to wake up to a better way of eating.
